DVIDRVMA.DOC (Instructions for printing the dvidrv manual) 02-Jul-1991
==============================================================================
The dvidrv manual is available both in English and German.
Contents of dvidrvma.zip
------------------------
\emtex\doc\english\dvidrvma.doc this file
\emtex\doc\english\dvidrv.dvi DVI file for the English manual
\emtex\doc\german\dvidrvma.doc German version of this file
\emtex\doc\german\dvidrv.dvi DVI file for the German manual

\emtex\doc\gr300\dvitrans.0 - .7 Graphics files (300 DPI)
\emtex\doc\gr360\dvitrans.0 - .7 Graphics files (360 DPI)
Printing the manual using the fonts supplied
--------------------------------------------
First install the files in DVIDRV.ZIP and DVIDRVMA.ZIP and the fonts (see
README.ENG). Set the environment variables, adjust the margins! The manual
can then be printed using one of the following commands:
\prthplj \emtex\doc\english\dvidrv HP LaserJet+
\prthplj \emtex\doc\english\dvidrv /ok Kyocera F-1010
\prthplj \emtex\doc\english\dvidrv /od HP DeskJet
\prtp6l \emtex\doc\english\dvidrv NEC P6 (180 DPI)
\prtp6h \emtex\doc\english\dvidrv NEC P6 (360 DPI)
\prtlql \emtex\doc\english\dvidrv EPSON LQ series (180 DPI)
Using fonts from other sources
------------------------------
This is discouraged. If this is necessary or desirable then the font emsy9
must be created. The METAFONT source for this font will be found in EMSY.ZIP.
The paths will also be different and will need changing.
Using another printer
---------------------
The graphics files, which are needed for the manual, are provided in 180, 300
and 360 dpi. Thus the manual can be printed correctly only on machines with
one of these resolutions. If you want to or have to use a printer resolution
for which no graphics files are provided, you should use graphics files with
a resolution as close as possible to the desired resolution. If, for
instance, you want to use 160x144 dpi, you should enter the command
set dvidrvgraph=c:\emtex\doc\gr180
(please substitute the correct drive letter for c:). The manual will be
readable though the graphics examples will be distorted.
Further information
-------------------
Further information on the dvidrv driver family will be found in the file
dvidrv.doc (in DVIDRV.ZIP). Until the manual is printed you can use these
documents instead.
Changes in the contents of DVIDRV.ZIP are documented only in dvidrv.doc.
